Beginning String Orchestra

Designed for those who have either never had any experience with music or played a string instrument (violin, viola, cello, double bass) before. This is a two-quarter fine arts class that can be taken during Q1 and 2 (Aug through Dec) or during Q3 and 4 (Jan through June). Because this is a performing arts class, this course concludes with a grand performance at the end of the semester (winter concert for Q2 in December, or spring concert for Q4 in May).

In this class, students will learn how to read notes and apply it to a string instrument (guitars not included in this class).

If there are enough students that are interested in further pursuing advanced studies, the music department may open an advanced strings class in the near future.

This class is usually held during Period 2 and is available in both Fall and Spring semesters but is currently unavailable during remote distance learning.
