OUR SECOND YEAR OF THE NEW 4 X 4 BLOCK SCHEDULE

In our on-going effort to help all our students achieve to the best of their abilities, we've adopted a new schedule called the 4 x 4 block. This innovation allows students to take only four (instead of the traditional six) classes each eight weeks. With two fewer classes, students have more time to concentrate upon completing their homework and thoroughly learning their subjects. Each class is now 95 minutes, giving the teachers time to delve deeply into the important concepts and really help the student to master them.

Because the class periods are so much longer now, each semester is only eight weeks and an entire year's course of study sixteen weeks (the time we used to spend for just a semester!), it means that each day is equivalent to two days in the old system. It is therefore crucial to attend class each and every day ready to learn; students really cannot afford to miss school or come unprepared. The first bell rings at 7:15 am; students must be seated in their classes by 7:25 am or they will be picked up in the tardy sweep. Each time they are late, they not only miss valuable instruction but they will also receive detention and phone calls home.
