LAUSD taste testing Show Transcript good afternoon everybody now the moment you have been waiting for the sampling of our award-winning butter chicken you guys ready let's begin today we're here celebrating our culinary arts program that won another back-to-back champions for creating the best food item for a lunch program on LSD butter chicken with rice and some nice fresh vegetables and it's a great way for our kids to uh discover what is organic what does it mean to be nourished and appropriately we're just giving that out to the community everybody the students teachers it's all about everybody coming together putting in the input and uh by the looks of it everybody seems to love it part of the competition was that they had to include Farm to school fruits and vegetables inactive ability for them to taste that to know that these are available in our cafeteria too we want them to kind of understand where that's coming from the freshest best produce from California local grown family-owned and that's what we're doing we're making a big difference I think that will help us get the win was the people the team and especially Chef Garcia she helped us a lot and how to prepare the dishes and when you have a team that communicates well it all works perfect I hope that these experiences give with some Hunger for More cuz we are a CTE pathway it gives them career Readiness I've had these students for a couple of years now and I have seen a lot of growth it's all about student driven menus we want to give you food that you like you enjoy you eat and what's better than a recipe that came from your own students Published October 15, 2026 Print
