My dad, Vince Vandiver, died today (June 22, 2012) at the age of 97.
He worked with Poly High for nearly 40 years, and taught History and Social Studies. Working with the staff and students at Poly were the happiest years of his life.
About 20 years ago, my parents moved to Oregon, but to my dad, LA was always ‘home’!
His health was great up until last year, although he suffered from increasingly bad dementia. His passing was gentle and quiet, with my sister holding his hand.
