Today on 12/9:

1.  Satire piece turned in with all of your work (the outline, the peer edited version, etc.)

 

2.  Paper was printed and highlighted and labelled for satirical terms.

 

3.  We read Springboard "In Depth but Shallowly" pg. 235

4.  We watched a sample parody from Saturday Night Live

5.  Groups formed for parody project and topic chosen.  You will be working all day on Monday to prep and then perform partway thru our Tuesday.  Yes this is for a grade.  

6.  Per. 4 took Simon's Saga test - (per 3 will take on Monday)

1.  Outline given out....due tomorrow

2.  "How to Poison the Earth"  We read & marked for satirical devices.

1)  Kehrmeyer gone for on-campus meeting.  Sub took students to room 84 for Unit 1 test.  You must complete by 9 P.M.  and then I am locking test.  If you show progress you will receive a grade of "proficient."

1)  Springboard Pg. 174.  Assignment is to annotate (underline key points, circle words you don't know and underline references to the first amendment based on yesterday's lesson.)  Answer the Key Ideas and Details in the text.  When finished, can you answer the question, "What is the role of Media in our society?"

 

HW = Read chapters 1-3 of The Catcher in the Rye.  Be prepared for a quiz any day!!
