Letter should start,  "Dear Judge,  I have or have not been rehabilitated...."  You must write at least 10 sentences and be prepared to share out tomorrow in class!!

Began new module (Juvenile Justice).  Refer to the activities and articles in your book for this information.
 
1)   Activity 1:  Write out on a piece of paper.....Do a 5 minute quick write on topic in act. #1.
2)   On same paper, make a chart with "adult"   "juvenile"   "child" on it.  Make a list of the characteristics each possess.
 
3)  Act 2:  Key Concepts....look at defintions.  Highlight them.  Now read the definition and highlight pertinent part. 
 
4)  Go to scenarios in act. 2 and complete.

3)  ERWC "The Rhetoric of the Op Ed"  - Introduction to Unit and several steps were completed in class. 
 
Start a new paper for class notes titled "The Rhetoric of the Op Ed"  (see a friend for notes).  You need definitions, a bubble map with antonym/syn. 
 
Next we did Activity 1 for this module:  (Write a short paragraph) about a time you persuaded someone....
 
Handout:  Use the handout in the folder "Guide to Reading Non-Fiction" to begin this article...basically prereading strategies.
 
Using the John Edlund article, found in the module titled "Three Ways to Persuade" you are to follow the steps on the Guide to Reading... Sheet (BUT DON"T WRITE THEM ON THIS SHEET, instead, write them DIRECTLY on the article.  You will have several things written based on #1-5 of the "Guide".  
 
Next follow the instructions for #6 & 7  (From "Guide to Reading...."
 
HW = Read the whole article and come with annotations on it based on this handout.  This handout can be found on the attached file.
