Writing Seminar A

Writing Seminar A, as I teach it, functions as an addendum to 10th Grade English classes (10A and 10B). During the first half of this quarter, we read and discuss the novel, Things Fall Apart, by Chinua Achebe. As we do that, we work on various exercises from the Springboard workbook which are based on the novel. During the second half of the quarter, we do an intensive "CAHSEE Prep" program, which uses another workbook called Measuring Up, and weekly on-demand essays. This quarter ends with students taking the CAHSEE and passing it! (Right??  RIGHT!!)
