BTSA/ New Teacher Resources News

BTSA 2007-08

All LAUSD general education teachers who completed their preliminary credential in California after August 30, 2004, must complete the LAUSD BTSA Induction Program. For a detailed description of the program, click on the LAUSD BTSA link (see below). If you are not sure if you should be participating in the BTSA program, you can contact Dharma Hernandez, PSP Teacher Adviser (Polytechnic HS) at (213) 215-6549 or dth3022@lausd.net

BTSA Support Providers: Please make sure you are recording the hours you work with your participating teachers. If you need substitue coverage for yourself or your participating teacher, click on the link to print out the substitute request form. Remember, you must fax the substitute request to Phyllis Gudoski at least two weeks before the requested date.

BTSA Participating Teachers (Year One): Remember that you must register at the BTSA state website (see below link). Please print out your registration confirmation and file it in your portfolio notebook.

Make sure you have registerd for your Local District Two seminars, which begin in January. You are required to attend three seminars (except if you are participating in the CSUN Joint Induction Program). You may register at LAUSD BTSA (see below link).


BTSA Participating Teachers (Year Two): Make sure you have registered for your Local District Two seminars, which started in September. There are still three remaining seminars, beginning October 18th. You may register LAUSD BTSA (see below link).

This year you are NOT required to register with the state.
